How-To Create an Outdoor Sanctuary In a Small Space

I love to come home after a hard day at work to my own little outdoor sanctuary. I have mixed modern furniture with organic pieces to create a peaceful getaway. I also used nature to create a wall of organic beauty for even more privacy. You can do this with so many different combinations of furniture and greenery so that you too can come home to a nice relaxing, private outdoor getaway. It doesn't matter if you live in a small space such as an apartment or condominium, below I will show you how to create an outdoor space for yourself!

I have this cute, little balcony right outside my kitchen that is only 7 feet by 10 feet and I wanted to create a relaxing environment in my small space. You can create beauty even in the smallest of spaces.

My fur-babies decided they wanted to help momma with her project! The outdoor rug I chose is durable enough to withstand the outdoors, while being organic enough for my taste. Be sure when choosing a rug for your outdoor space that you think of it as your canvas to create on. Love it!

Next I wanted a day bed that I could lay on and cuddle with my puppies, or provide extra seating for company. I paired it with a couple of tribal pattern pillows. Perfect for relaxing and enjoying the afternoon shade.

I searched for a modern table for the setting and my two sons found this beauty for me! Aren't they the best!? I like to mix modern with organic for an eclectic feel. This table is great because it is circular with no sharp edges and won't disrupt my small space. Remember to think about how you will be enjoying your outdoor sanctuary, and if you will need to walk through it with ease.

Next I added my beautiful lounge chair paired with an outdoor pillow. I wanted to keep within the same color palette so that the space doesn't seem cramped or chaotic.

I also added this fabulous teak foot stool that I will be using as a side table for my lounge chair. I found this piece at an antique store for a deal! This is perfect because of its organic feel and just the right height for placing a drink or a nice little plant.

Lastly, I added my window-boxes filled to the brim with snapdragons that will grow tall enough to allow me a privacy-wall to relax. By combining a few pieces of modern furniture with organic pieces and nature I have created a peaceful outdoor sanctuary that I can enjoy with my friends and puppies. Remember that you can create organic elegance in even the smallest of spaces.

I love it...I hope you love it too!
