About Sara
Sara began her professional design and art career as a teacher and private art instructor. While working at the prestigious Nelson-Atkinson Museum of Art in Kansas City, she was also teaching art at a local private school. The push to finally fulfill a dream of designing outdoor living areas for others came from her students. While visiting her home for private lessons, many would comment on how much they loved her gardens and ask what she could do to help at their own homes. The opportunity to build a life around creating artful garden escapes was more exciting to her than creating art on a canvas. Thus began her successful business, Outside Interiors.
As a landscape business owner in the Midwest, Sara loves the opportunities and challenges that come with the changing seasons. Sara always puts thoughtful care into her clients’ personal aesthetic preferences, home orientation, and care level required for each piece of greenery. Beyond creating the beautiful landscapes her clients desire, Sara also enjoys creating seasonal pots for her clients.
The intersection of art and nature is a love she has passed down to her two sons. When her son Evan isn’t traveling the world helping exotic animals with animal rescue non-profits, he works as a domestic animal veterinarian in Conejo, California. Her son Garrett thrives as a designer for a prominent design firm in New York City. His talents span both residential and interior design.
